Here Comes "The Sun"

Every month The Sun lands in my mailbox—a print magazine with no ads, just stories, essays, poems, and interviews that seem genuinely concerned with the human spirit. It’s hard to explain what this magazine is to someone who’s never read it, but everyone I’ve shared it with has found something worthwhile.

I’m often moved by what I read in its pages, but Tatiana Swancy’s essay “Driftless” was the first that made me write and tell them so. The Sun published my letter in the October 2025 issue.

People talk a lot about “community,” but with The Sun I actually feel a part of something: a conversation between readers and writers who care about “the splendor and heartache of being human.” Learn more about The Sun.
